For that matter, I’m generally in favor of giving your kids Unnecessarily Flamboyant Names that can be condensed to Totally Normal Nicknames if they really want because they’re lame or something.

Like, y’know,

“Polly” –> Polyhymnia

“Al” –> Alaric

“Luke” –> Lucifer

etc.
